Car Sales February 2020: Honda Cars India recorded a fall of 46.26% in sales in February 2020 as selling 7269 units compared to 13,527 units sold in the same month last year. While 64 units only exported from India to other markets.
The Japanese carmaker said that its dealers have aggressively settling BS4 stock and since its dispatching BS6 vehicles from January 2020. As we know, March 2020 is the deadline for automakers to clear up all their BS4 cars before the BS6 emission norm applied nationwide from 01s April 2020.
Rajesh Goel, Director, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales Department, Honda Cars India said, “Our dispatches limited and in line with our plan of total supply available for the month. We determined to improve the supplies with subsequent introduction of BS6 versions of other models and bring down the waiting period for our customers. Our dealers aggressively discharging their BS4 variants, because we are supplying only BS-IV cars from January 2020, and our channel left with a tiny stock of BS4 cars as of February end”.
The company starts dispatching the Amaze BS6 diesel this month, and subsequently, other models like the Honda Civic and Honda CR-V will follow.
